#1LinerWeds from The Guardian

If you want to come up with old solutions, read news.
If you are looking for new solutions, don’t.

Rolf Dobelli, The Guardian

I’ve seen several articles in the last few days that all point at the same article by Rolf Dobelli in The Guardian from April 2013, “News is bad for you — and giving up reading it will make you happier.” I encourage you to click on the link and read it. He argues that what we have come to regard as “the news” is largely irrelevant and misleading, it’s bad for your mind and makes you depressed, and that it interferes with your thinking and creativity. He’s not saying not to be informed, but that knowing what’s in the news and being informed are often two different things.

One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you by Linda Hill.
